History

Nicka & Associates, Inc. formerly FRPC, was founded in 1992 by Sharon L. Nicka, RN, CPC to provide quality coding for Emergency Medicine physicians. FRPC began as a sole proprietorship with two employees and a local client in Texas. In 2002, FRPC was renamed Nicka & Associates, Inc. Since that time, Nicka & Associates has emerged as an industry leader in emergency medicine coding, compliance and consulting.

The healthcare industry and the specialty of Emergency Medicine have under gone significant changes and transitions over the last few years. Keeping up with the trends and changes in Ambulatory Payment Classification, better known as APCs, Documentation Guidelines, Teaching Physician and MLP Rules, on-going coding initiatives, and the ever increasing scrutiny of the OIG can be challenging. At Nicka & Associates, emergency medicine is our business. We are here to provide expertise and knowledge in this evolving specialty!

Today, Nicka & Associates is known nationwide with over 40 full time coders and clients in 20 states spanning from Florida to Alaska.
